VENAARI News
The Unnamed Imperium was sent reeling the other day when former ally: Nikolaj Eyre, used their name in a covert attack aimed at aiding the embattled criminals of the Eternal Empire formerly known as Zann.
Eyre, once a friend and trusted leader within the Imperium, flew his crew through the Hydian Expanse's blockade at Khuiumin using the name of the Imperium to obfuscate any attempts at stopping them. Undeterred, the Expanse blasted Eyre out of the sky, stranding him on Courkus I, along with many of the criminals he had gone to aid.
A famed alcoholic, Eyre would go on to insist that his actions were merely the drunken flight path of a man who had partaken in too much Corellian Spice Wine, vehemently denying any accusations of his affiliation with Zann. However, the actions that followed showed his true colours without a doubt, and have sent the Imperium scrambling to pick up the pieces left in his wake.
Fresh off of being labeled as a criminal by the Hydian Expanse, an act which tarred the Imperium by association, Eyre used his position within the group to accept numerous members of the famed Zann Consortium into the faction. This act inflamed the council, who rejected Eyre's petition to create ties with Zann and ousted him along with his followers. Over the past month, the Imperium has worked tirelessly to eradicate every trace of Eyre's treacherous dealings. Any who supported him have been dealt with, and summary executions have become an everyday occurrence in Venaari.
To those who still believe that Eyre's actions reflect a broader sentiment across the Unnamed Imperium, Director Lucifer Von Kaldreon had this to say:
"Trust is earned over years, but it can be squandered in a single decision. Nikolaj Eyre was once considered a trusted member of the Unnamed Imperium. His actions, however, were his own and were undertaken without the knowledge, approval, or authorization of the Imperium or its Council. The moment the full extent of his conduct became known, he was stripped of all standing within our organization and permanently removed alongside those who chose to follow him.
Let there be no misunderstanding: the Unnamed Imperium maintains no relationship with the Eternal Empire, formerly known as Zann, nor do we condone the use of our name to conceal criminal activity or deceive sovereign governments. Any individual who attempts to exploit our reputation for personal gain does so alone and will find no sanctuary within our borders."
Following Director Lucifer Von Kaldreon's remarks, Council Member Dr. Adalgar von Albion also addressed the growing speculation surrounding the incident, offering further clarification on the Imperium's position.
"There has been no shortage of rumors surrounding Khuiumin, so allow me to address them plainly.
Director Lucifer Von Kaldreon and I were not present during the events at Khuiumin. We neither authorized, directed, nor had prior knowledge of the operation. We became aware of the incident only after reports began reaching the Council. Any claim that the leadership of the Unnamed Imperium orchestrated or endorsed those actions is categorically false.
It is equally important to correct another misconception. Nikolaj Eyre was not a member of the Unnamed Imperium. He was a member of the Bounty Hunters Guild, an organization that, at the time, maintained diplomatic ties with us. Those ties were built upon mutual trust and respect. That trust was abused.
The Council has acted, the culprit has been expelled , and the Imperium now looks forward. Our attention remains where it has always belonged: protecting our people, strengthening our alliances, and ensuring that the name of the Unnamed Imperium continues to stand for integrity, discipline, and honor.
After the press conference, some journalists wondered whether it is possible to besmirch the name of an unnamed imperium. This has been Astrid Van Meer, VENAARI News, signing off.
