This Star Wars
convention was held in Hamburg, Germany, from November 29 to
December 1, 2002. The main point of the convention was the
impressive panel of actors from the Star Wars movies:
- The Sith: Ray Park (Darth Maul) and David Prowse (Darth
Vader).
- The Bounty Hunters: Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett),
Michonne Bourriague (Aurra Sing), Alan Harris (Bossk).
- The Admirals: Richard LeParmentier (Motti), Ken Colley
(Piett), Michael Sheard (Ozzel).
- The Rebels: Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Garrick Hagon
(Biggs), Tim Rose (Ackbar), Dermot Crowley (Madine).
- The Aliens: Femi Taylor (Oola), Mike Edmonds (Loogray),
Alisa Burke (Amanaman), and a few more.
- Find the complete list here.
There were the usual people dressed in costumes ranging from
Stormtroopers to Tusken Raiders, Rodians, half-naked slaves, Jedi,
and even a very impressive clone of the Emperor. There was even a
real size remote controlled R2-D2 moving all around our room. There
were the usual merchant shops selling books (all in German, damn),
toys, costumes, movies, swords, clothes, light up lightsabers, and
more "doo dads" then you know what to do with (but unfortunately no
Lego Star Destroyer). However, what was not usual at this Star Wars
Convention was the presence of the Star Wars Combine!
The Combine was represented by Veynom, JodoKast, and Dreighton.
During 3 days, we explained what the Combine was to people. To help
us, we had a full panel, laptops, Combine flyers, business cards,
and posters. On Saturday, they presented a one-hour conference
about Star Wars Villains in the main room, right before the
interview of Ray Park. We had invited two German fanclubs to attend
the panel with them: The
Imperial Headquarters and The Imperiale Flotte Schleswig-Holstein. The
Combine would also like to thank the German
Garrison for the nice escort they provided us during our
entrance on the scene.
The Combine would like to thank Dadeka and the IFSH team for the
cooperation and the nice time we had during the Convention, we also
thank the German Garrison for their very nice escort to our
conference, and finally, we thank the organizers of Star Wars
Hamburg 2002.
